The award-winning actress has shared in past interviews how she struggled to conceive a child and failed.

Agot Isidro may have played the role of mother in movies and television as many times as she can remember, but not in real life. The actress’ difficulty bearing a child has been an open secret for a while now, especially when she was still married to TV personality Manu Sandejas. The two parted ways in 2010, and since then the actress never entered another relationship, until 2019, when she met Filipino lawyer Florin “Pilo” Ternal Hilbay.

During the grand press conference held last December 7, for the film Family Matters, where she played a very significant role, Isidro was given the chance to explain her experience as a childless woman. During the grand press conference of her upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry, Family Matters, one of the things that got tackled was whether it is right for parents to demand children to take care of them when they’re old, as payment for taking care of their kids growing up. Isidro responded to the question as a childless married woman for 10 years.

Isidro quipped, “I’m taking care of my family.”

Family Matters is one of the eight official entries to this year’s MMFF. Directed by Nuel Naval who helmed the 2019 blockbuster and MMFF top-grosser, Miracle in Cell No.7, Family Matters goes head-to-head with festival giants, Vice Ganda and Coco Martin, whose respective entries, Partners in Crime and Labyu with An Accent, are both expected to become formidable contenders in the box-office.

The film is top-billed by an all-star cast ensemble, led by showbiz veterans, Noel Trinidad and Liza Lorena.  Also included in the cast, are Nikki Valdez, Mylene Dizon, Nonie Buencamino, JC Santos, James Blanco, and Ian Pangilinan.
