The ‘90s icon hopes former colleagues in showbiz, who are now members of Congress, can help create legal measures that can resuscitate the action genre in local cinema.

The action star hopes that action films and the action genre can regain their former glory. In order to succeed, he needs the help of former action stars who are now members of the Lower and Upper Chambers. Senators Ramon Revilla Jr., Robinhood Padilla, and Lito Lapid were particularly highlighted by Raval.

Raval had the chance of expressing his wish during the press conference of his new horror trilogy film, Pinoy Ghost Tales. He noted the lawmakers in the Senate who can help realize such a dream.

He said he believed the government had funds allocated for the industry to start and take off.

Raval was one of the leading action stars in the ‘90s. When the action genre went stale in the early 2000s, he was one of many action stars who suddenly went jobless. Asked whether he had some grudge or regrets over what happened to the local film industry, he clarified that he only regretted his decision to refuse a lot of supporting roles in non-action projects. He also shared that he got disheartened mostly by those who lost their livelihood because of the sudden death of the action genre.

After years of hiatus, Raval returned to acting in 2016, via the ABS-CBN series, We Will Survive. His projects have since been coming in the streak. He was last seen on the Kapamilya action-drama series, The Iron Heart.
