Six areas are now under Signal No.2 as Typhoon Nando continues to strengthen as it approaches the northern part of Luzon, according to the state weather bureau on Sunday morning.

Signal No. 1 has been raised over 18 areas in Luzon as Typhoon Nando continues to intensify over the Philippine Sea.

State weather bureau PAGASA on Friday warned the public of possible hazards and reminded them to prepare for the expected impact of Tropical Storm Nando, which may reach the super typhoon category by Monday.

Protesters would need to bring their raincoats and umbrellas as rainy weather may be experienced over Metro Manila and nearby areas on Sunday, September 21, the state weather bureau PAGASA said. 

Tropical Storm Nando has further gained strength, PAGASA said in its 5 a.m. Friday bulletin.
